A single polarizing filter may be used to filter out the sky during daylight observing. The manual claims it also reduces glare from the Moon or planets.
Although it's not their intended purpose, we believe our polarizing filters may be of high enough quality to do simple polarimetry, especially if stacked with an IR-blocking filter.
