Title: Nova TCB: A new star in the crown constellation that we can see this year
Lecturer:
Position:
Institution: Caltech
Abstract:
In the constellation Corona Borealis (Northern Crown), a new star is about to appear this year that we can see with our own eyes. T Corona Borealis (T Cor Bor) will undergo a cosmic event where a star temporarily becomes a million times as bright as our sun - such an event is called a classical nova. Please join me to discuss why novae happen, what to expect, and how to see this once-in-a-lifetime cosmic sparkle.
