I am a graduate student at UC Berkeley working with adviser Josh Bloom toward a PhD in astronomy. My research primarily focuses on the use of optical and infrared time-domain surveys to improve our understanding of stellar evolution. Our group is working to develop machine-learning algorithms for the automated classification of variable stars in large photometric datasets. I am particularly fascinated by supernovae, luminous blue variables, erupting young stellar objects, and R Coronae Borealis stars to name but a few.
