SN 2004dn:<br>

This SN was discovered by LOSS 
<a href="http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iauc/08300/08381.html#Item1"> 
(IAUC 8381)</a> on Aug 2, 2004, and the fast rise from previous 
detection on July 29, 2004, indicated it is a young SN, before
peak.<br>

The host galaxy 
<a href="http://nedwww.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/nph-objsearch?objname=UGC+2069&extend=yes&out_csys=Equatorial&out_equinox=J2000.0&obj_sort=RA+or+Longitude&of=pre_text&zv_breaker=30000.0&list_limit=5&img_stamp=YES">UGC 2069</a> 
is at z=0.012605 (NED).<br>

Patat et al. 
<a href="http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iauc/08300/08381.html#Item1">
(IAUC 8381)</a> obtained a spectrum of this SN on Aug 5, 2004, 
identifying it as a young type Ic SN.<br>
