The host galaxy

is at z=0.030988 (NED).<br>

A spectrum obtained by Hamuy and collaborators  
(<a href="http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iauc/08400/08403.html">
IAUC 8403</a>), indicates it is a young type Ia SN<br>
<br>
This SN is the target of an HST follow-up campaign as part of the
large type Ia-UV program, PI Filippenko.<br>
