SN 2005O:<br>

This SN was discovered by Lulin observatory
<a href="http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iauc/08400/08471.html#item1"> 
(IAUC 8471)</a> on January 16, 2005, and absent on December 27, 2004, 
so discovered rather young.<br> 
<br>
The host galaxy 
<a href="http://nedwww.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/nph-objsearch?objname=ngc+3340&extend=no&out_csys=Equatorial&out_equinox=J2000.0&obj_sort=RA+or+Longitude&of=pre_text&zv_breaker=30000.0&list_limit=5&img_stamp=YES">NGC 3340</a> 
is at z=0.018120 (NED).<br>

Spectrum reported by Schmidt and Salvo (IAUC 8472) shows this is a type Ib SN near max.
