RESEARCH INTERESTS:
My current research interests include:-
- Cosmic
Microwave Imager (CBI). CMB polarization data reduction,
calibration and analysis. Check out the latest
results (Readhead et al. 2004) including a 7-sigma detection
of E-mode CMB power spectrum, published in Science.
I am also using CBI data to characterize foreground Galactic emission.
- Planck. ESA/NASA space mission to map the CMB over a wide-range
of frequencies. I am involved in the U.S. data analysis effort
focussing on the determination and effects of diffuse Galactic
foregrounds.
- Very Small
Array (VSA). Check out the most recent total-intensity results
from the VSA covering l=150-1500 (Dickinson et al. 2004). Galactic
plane observations.
- CMB foregrounds. I work on several aspects of CMB foregrounds
(template maps, foreground models, ISM studies; e.g. Dickinson et al.
2003; Banday et al. 2003; Davies et al. 2006).
- Interstellar Medium / Galaxy -> radio/microwave emission
mechanisms in the ISM supplemented with radio and IR data (e.g. GBT,
Spitzer).
- C-BASS. NSF funded project to survey the northern sky at 5GHz in
total-intensity & polarization. This provide detailed models of the
Galactic synchrotron radiation which will be a major foreground for
future CMB polarization experiments.
- QUIET (Q/U Imaging
ExperimenT). Dual experiment to measure and map the CMB in polarization
at 40 / 90 GHz to unprecedented sensitivity (not funded as of yet).
- Other stuff! (HI cluster surveys, H-alpha imaging, Magellanic
stream, radio source surveys, End-of-Reionization (EOR) and more if I
had any time to spare!).
