    within the Galaxy, the most important problems, and the future
    prospects.  Again, approx. 1 single-spaced page worth.

2b. Or (for this one, team work is acceptable, but N < 4):

    Danny Quayle offers you a billion dollars to make a substantial
    improvement in our knowledge of distances within the Galaxy.
    How would you spend it?  (Feel free to pester the local experts.)
