Here's the sketch: Chen et al. (2005; ApJ 623, 493) have shown that among ~solar-mass members of the Sco-Cen subgroups (ages ~5-20 Myr), there appears to be an interesting anti-correlation between X-ray luminosity and 24um excess. The conclusion was drawn from a representive sample of ~40 objects in one stellar association, so naturally one would like to know whether this anti-correlation exists elsewhere -- and if so, why? We have the data to make this plot for other stellar groups, and for the FEPS field stars (although the activity-age correlation may conspire to produce an activity-disk *correlation*?). Step 1: compile logLx and logLx/Lbol data Step 2: compile logLir/Lbol data Step 3: make plot for various subsamples of FEPS stars Step 4: test statistical significance of correlations (accounting for upper limits when necessary). Step 5: Look for explanation - physics?!
