What is the minimum, maximum, and distribution of masses in a single “episode” of star formation?
Is the distribution variant or invariant, i.e. the same at all times and in all places -- regardless of initial conditions?
Nomenclature:
Stars: M > 0.075 Msun ranging up to at least 120 Msun
Brown Dwarfs: M < 0.075 Msun down to at least 0.015 Msun
Planets: M < ?? objects in orbit around a star
