Elevation
The elevation of the telescope (0..90).
- Input Format:
- A
sexagesimal number
between -90 and 90 degrees, inclusive.
- Operators:
-
-
-a
- The unary minus operator changes the sign of its operand.
- Use with do-loops:
- When an Elevation variable is used as the dependent variable of a
do-loop, the associated loop increment is
specified as a Sexagesimal constant.
- Context:
- The elevation at which the telescope points is 0 when pointing
at the horizon and 90 when pointing at the zenith. In practice,
the CBI can't point below about 40 degrees. The Elevation
argument of the
slew
command tells the control system how high to point the telescope.
