SN Field Galaxy Plots

by James D. 'Don' Neill

Galaxies with a redshift less than the SN and a mass greater than 10^8 Msun within 35 arcseconds of the line-of-sight of the SN are plotted. The size of the circle is proportional to the log of the galaxy mass. For the most massive galaxies, the redshift is indicated. The dashed lines intersect at the nominal SN position, while the central cross symbol shows the actual intrinsic SN position after accounting for weak lensing. The predicted magnifications using the NFW and SIS mass profiles are annotated at the bottom of the plots.

Currently, we have only 42 SNe from fields D1, D2, and D4. D3 will add another 31 SNe.

Notice how the magnifications less than 1.0 usually correspond to positive delta mu(B) residual (fainter), while the magnifications greater than 1.0 correspond to negative delta mu(B) residuals.
