SN site colors versus µ

Procedure: Here we extend the information in the color histograms by plotting the SN site color as a function of FUV and NUV surface brightness (µ) for the physically sized apertures.
Interpretation: The brightest µ sites seem to prefer SNe Ibc, with the exception of one SN II. SNe Ia seem to avoid the brightest µ sites and populate the fainter µ more densely than any other type. This could be a selection effect, since more recent SN Ia surveys tend to be area rather than host targeted.
Once we restrict our sample to SNe with host IR data, we lose the three brightest µ SN Ibc sites. We do see that SNe Ia seem to prefer the fainter and redder sites, while the SNe II concentrate in the brighter and bluer sites.
