CALERR

CALERR is a program for adding "calibration errors" to a MERGE file. The error in each amplitude is increased by adding a fraction of the corresponding amplitude in quadrature. You can specify a different fraction for each baseline.

CAUTION: you should only use CALERR to modify a datafile for plotting. Use of CALERR will noticeably upset hybrid mapping with AMPHI, INVERT, and CLEAN because it distorts the relative errors on the data points. The effect is that AMPHI gives too much weight to the low-quality data. If in doubt, do not use CALERR at all. Personally, I do not consider it useful.

To run the program use the command calerr, and answer the questions.

For running from a command file, supply Input file name, Output file name, then percentage error for each baseline, each on a separate line.
