Event: Pasadena Week of Astronomy, Astro Festival
Venue: Pasadena Convention Center
http://www.cityofastronomy.org/astrofest2022

To kick off the Pasadena City of Astronomy Week (coordinated with AAS meeting), there will be an astronomy festival held at the Pasadena Convention Center. The major astronomy research institutions in Pasadena will be represented with lots of educational activities for the public. The Caltech contingent will be operating solar telescopes (daytime), using a large parabolic to light marshmallows on fire, and hosting a "build a comet" booth showcasing what comprises comets in the outer solar system! In addition, many of the other organizations (e.g., IPAC, JPL, Carnegie, etc.) are short on volunteers and sometimes require additional help from us to operate their IR camera or model Mars Rover. Shifts are for three hours, but if you can make more/less then that is OK too.
