---+ September 11-13, 2026 *Event Type*: Special Event<br> [[https://www.nps.gov/grba/planyourvisit/great-basin-astronomy-festival.htm][Great Basin Astronomy Festival]]<br> We will be assisting with the Great Basin National Park Astronomy Festival to take place Friday-Sunday September 11-13.<br> Our primary responsibilities will be to run one Astronomy on Tap event there, give two presentations (Cameron and Sam),<br> and host an Astrophysicist Q&A panel.<br> GBNP will provide us with gas money to cover our transportation and a campsite for each of us in the educator<br> campsite at Grey Cliffs Group Site.<br> Drive time from Caltech to Baker, NV is about 8h depending on the route and time of day. <br> Everyone needs to have their own camping equipment (or teaming up with a buddy).<br> Temperatures in the campsite are pleasant during the day (70-80F) but can be cold<br> and breezy at night (40-50F). You will want a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, etc. You can rent<br> these at the Caltech Y, or REI, or bring your own. <br>
