P60-inch Proposals

The Palomar 60-inch telescope is now fully automated, and can be used only with the dedicated 2Kx2K CCD camera.
20% of the time (about 33 nights/semester after engineering) is available for general CIT use. Successful CIT proposers will be asked to coordinate their requests with Shri Kulkarni and Fiona Harrison as part of the overall queue schedule. Successful PIs will be expected to submit their target list (in the form of
P60 queued observing files) by the start of the semester. Note that targets will be scheduled by software: no a priori sequencing or specific time windows are possible. No ToO time is available. The echelle spectrograph is not available. The P60 primary and secondary mirrors were aluminized in August 2006.
