Code of Conduct for KSM2020

All KSM2020 attendees agree to behave professionally, abide by the AAS Code of Ethics, follow this code of conduct, and report violations of the Code of Conduct by contacting SOC members, emailing ksm2020@lists.astro.caltech.edu, or submitting a report to this website. Violations reported to the website may be reported anonymously. This code of conduct applies to all aspects of KSM2020, including but not limited to live presentations, Q&A sessions, Zoom chat conversations, Slack discussions, and any communications related to KSM-2020. Violation of the code of conduct will result in removal from all KSM2020 events.


The goal of KSM2020 is to create an inclusive and supportive environment to share results, expertise, and ideas related to Keck science. KSM2020 encourages and values participation by all attendees regardless of their (alphabetically) age, career stage, cultural background, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, gender identity, marital status, nationality, physical appearance, political affiliation, pregnancy, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and status as a caregiver (including as a parent). KSM2020 attendees pledge to treat each other with respect, make space for others by not dominating the conversation, and be aware of power dynamics when communicating with other attendees. Discrimination, harassment, and bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.
